Instead of using a small paper or plastic cup for a single serving portion of food, why not use lemon cups? They are super cute and add flavor to what you’re serving! Don’t be intimidated — lemon cups are easy to make.
Start by finding a bunch of large oval shaped lemons. Look for ones that might be able to sit up straight on their own. If you can’t find ones that stand up by themselves, slice a small piece (1/4-inch) off of the bottom, so the lemon can stand up. Then, slice off the top of the lemon and scoop out the flesh with a large spoon. Discard the lemon flesh (or juice it and use to make cocktails). Carefully fill the hallowed out lemons with food.
Lemon dishes work best. Think chopped salad with lemon vinaigrette, lemon risotto, or lemon sorbet. Lemony pasta salad or sautéed vegetables would also be delicious. Serve with miniature forks or spoons. This is a great way to use up an abundance of lemons from a tree.
