Old-Fashioned Cheese Puffs

In it, I teach you how to make one of my all-time favorite recipes: an old-fashioned cheese, mayonnaise, and bread appetizer that is addictive and downright delicious. It’s super easy to put together and versatile — feel free to use whatever bread and cheese you want. Also, don’t be afraid of adding garnishes or mix-ins like fresh herbs and chopped olives. Old-Fashioned Cheese Puffs

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup minced onion
1/3 cup grated parmesan
8 slice of white bread, crusts removed, lightly toasted, cut into bite-sized squares
Chopped chives, for garnish

  1. Heat the broiler.
  2. In a food processor, combine mayonnaise, onion, and cheese. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Pulse to combine.
  3. Divide mixture evenly over the toasted bread slices.
  4. Place on broiler pan and broil until golden and bubbly about 2-5 minutes, depending on the heat of your broiler. Garnish with chives and serve warm.

Makes 32 bites.
